INTER-ACTION comes to Imported Artists March 25th!

Once again inter-action hits Toronto on March 25th - 6-8pm.
This month we're excited to host the bi-monthly thinktank/discussion group/task force for interactive thinkers.  It’s comprised of you.  People in the industry.  From Agencies to Development partners - creatives, developers, producers etc.  So, this is a time to get together, have a drink and chat about what we’re up to, where things are going, and how together we can continue to push
innovation locally.  Collaboration, is a good thing.

Join us at 171 East Liberty Street Suite 246

This weeks presentations:

Kerry Williams, Lawyer - Creative Legal
Kerry Williams is a former Bay Street Lawyer, he's recently started his own
practice centering on new media. Why? Because he loves the people, and our
work. Kerry is on the board and serves as General Counsel for POP Montreal,
and is committed to helping artists, and companies protect their work. He'll
be talking about how you can protect your ideas, IP, and general commercial
law. But he doesn't sound like a lawyer.

Keith Schofield makes the Creativity top 50

How do you know you've made it in this business?  For starters, inclusion in Creativity's annual listing of fifty people who have defined and pioneered creative thinking over the year certainly helps.  This year Keith Schofield takes his place amongst the heady company of James Cameron, Tom Kuntz, Spike Jonze, Dave Eggers and of course...Lady Gaga.  Click here to read the profile on Keith and here to see the full list.

On a side note Keith's latest work for K-Swiss and his continually popular viral for Diesel's SFW XXX tops Creativity's most watched and emailed spots.

Bob Purman returns for more Honda

Bob Purman is back in Toronto to partner up with the folks at Grip Ltd. for another round of spots for Honda.  This time they're off the assembly line and into the streets to shoot the Civic in action.

David Gray shoots for Boston Pizza

Imported Artists is pleased to announce that David Gray is coming back to town to shoot a Boston Pizza campaign out of Taxi Advertising.

Bobby Winners!

Imported director's received great notices for their talent direction at this years Bobby awards.  Brett Favre won best performance by a celebrity for his work in David Gray's Sears spot and Jonathan Goldsmith won best performance by an actor for his ongoing brilliance in the Dos Equis The Most Interesting Man In the World campaign, directed by Steve Miller.

Special note was made of Favre's work in Sears compared to his acting debut in There's Something About Mary ten years ago.  Back then he came off as wooden whereas now he comes off as perfectly charming and relaxed.  This is especially surprising since he's making fun of his own in-decisiveness when committing to a TV, which hearkens back to his infamous pingponging as to where he was going to settle down and play football a few years ago.

Since becoming an on-line viral sensation, Jonathan Goldsmith's claim to fame is no longer that of a brief turn on Dallas in the 80's.  To see him now is to instantly recognize him as The Most Interesting Man In the World.  Click here to read an interview with the man whose "organ donor card includes his beard" and visit our PRESS section to read the Ad Age article on the Bobby winners.

Vance Malone shoots for McDonald's

Imported is pleased to welcome Station Film's Vance Malone to Toronto to join us for the tail end of our relatively tropical winter.  Vance is in town to shoot a McDonald's spot from the good folks at Cossette.  This is Vance's first commercial work since returning from Sundance where he was well received for his short documentary The Poodle Trainer.  When polled on the temperature difference between Park City and Toronto Vance said "It's definitely warmer here...".  Who ever would have thought?
