Hailing from a small town just outside of Frankfurt, Germany, Kehr attended art school at the Hochschule der Kunste in Berlin. He entered the ad game via Saatchi and Saatchi in London before hopping the pond to work as a still photographer and assist on commercial productions in New York and Los Angeles.
After publishing an acclaimed book of photographs entitled Color Full Pain, which showcases luminous black and white photographs of tattoo art and body piercing, Kehr transitioned to directing spots.
His commercial work has earned him countless awards and most recently, inclusion in ‘boards Magazine’s “Director’s On Top” list. Kehr’s seminal campaigns include Mitsubishi, Adidas and Kodak.
The director/photographer’s second book of photographs entitled, Photographs 1995-2005, will be released this fall through Kehrer Verlag.
