Born and raised in Dundee, Scotland, Jackie studied Stage Management at the RADA and camera at the NFTS in London. Upon finishing her technical studies she spent six years working in the camera department on a variety of films and television, including over twelve feature films and fifty commercials.
During this period she began to produce and co-direct short film sequences for theatre and opera productions which led her to her solo-directing debut with the short film 'Station' in autumn of 1999. Her launch into the world of commercials began with VW "Bollocks", a cheeky but charming viral through DDB London that was hugely successful and marked Jackie as an outstanding performance director with huge potential in the commercials market.
Since VW she has directed numerous spots as well as writing and directing 'Vagabond Shoes', a short film starring Iain Glen which was awarded at BAFTA, the Lille Film Festival and the NYC Shorts Film Festival. Jackie recently wrapped production of her debut feature "French Film" and has since directed spots for Kingsmill out of M&C Saatchi as well as a campaign for First Choice holidays through BMB.
