Henrik Hallgren

Henrik grew up inspired by comic books, and whilst still in school he began working with a local animation production company and as an illustrator. Very quickly he was animating his own short films and music videos, but was alwasys fascinated by characterisation and humanity which ultimately pushed him to start working in live-action. "I've always been fascinated with creating characters and worlds that exist within a frame, a comic frame or film frame - while the world outside is still the same", Henrik explains. He gets excited when talking about post-production and ideally, in-camera effects, models and latex; the more complicated the better..."It's being able to do all of these things on a project that really gets me going".

After graduation, Henrik joined Swedish production company EFTI. "That was basically my film school. A lot of Swedish directors came through that route. It was a fun place to be, a big company with lots of interesting people." He spent several years assisting directors and gained invaluable experience. "In Sweden, unlike the UK, you actually get to work with another director. I was already thinking of visual ideas for the scripts that were coming in."

Henrik joined Rogue Films in the UK in 2007, and continues to run the production company Atmosfar in Sweden with his partners, who are also called Henrik. In 2008 he shot his first UK job with WCRS. Creative director Yan Elliot said: "With Henrik the magic of making ads comes back to life. He instanly makes you feel that anything is possible." Henrik also has a unique Scandinavian gene that means he never gets cold, never gets drunk and looks like Jesus. Although without the sandals...or the beard.
