Charles Wittenmeier (DP)

After film school, Charles Wittenmeier began his career as a visual stylist. His art direction skills paved the way to his next career segment as a cameraman with the creative directing trio Bliss, which partnered him with Scott Bibo and Baker Smith.

Wittenmeier developed his comedic style during this time and eventually went on to direct his own spots. With spots over the years for such clients as Staples, Tabasco, Budweiser, Nintendo, Lucky Brand Jeans, Jeep, Alaska Airlines and Little Caesars Pizza, Wittenmeier became known for his work in comedy.

A string of lauded commercials for Little Caesars out of its agency at the time, Cliff Freeman and Partners, New York, established Wittenmeier in the ad humor genre. But he has also turned out visually driven, human-based storytelling.

The Little Caesars fare included the Wittenmeier-helmed "Singing Baby," which picked up a Bronze Lion at the Cannes International Advertising Festival and was honored at the Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) Show in the direction/humor category.

Today, Charles is one of the top comedy directors in North America and his humour extends to off-screen as well, making him a pleasure to work with on set
